The series’ focus thus far has been Liam Livingstone’s comeback in ODI. The innovative batting all-rounder was excluded from the ODI squad only a few weeks ago due to subpar batting performances.
However, regular captain Jos Buttler’s injury allowed him to return to the starting lineup immediately. In addition to returning, he was asked to captain the West Indies ODI team for the three-match series, which is now knotted at one.
Despite England’s lackluster performance in the first game, Livingstone stood out with a strong 48. However, he did let loose in the second game to record his highest score in the format.
Livingstone stepped out to bat in a problematic situation to smash his first ODI century with England chasing 329.
During the chase, he demonstrated game knowledge by clearing the ropes nine times and took 60 deliveries for his first fifty before obtaining the following fifty off just 17 deliveries.
Leading England to another victory in the last ODI will complete this turnaround and give them their first series victory in the format in more than a year.
England’s previous win in the format was against Ireland in September 2023, and they have since lost a series to Australia and the West Indies following the ODI World Cup last year.
A series victory here will give England much confidence to pursue the one white-ball cricket title they haven’t yet won, as the Champions title is in a few months.
However, just as they were absent from the World Cup last year for the first time in their history, the West Indies will also not be present at the Champions Trophy.
They are experiencing their comeback, and winning back-to-back home series against England in the past year will be a considerable boost.
We’ve played two games in Antigua so far, but the caravan is heading to Barbados for this last ODI and the first two T20I series matches. Paradoxically, the hosts also won the series decider between these two teams last year.
Where: Bridgetown, Barbados’ Kensington Oval
What to anticipate: The June T20 World Cup final between South Africa and India was the last international event held here. However, the most recent match under the 50-over format was the England vs.
West Indies series final in December last year. The Pacers played a significant part in the low-scoring game. Rain might cause a slight interruption, but stopping play is not enough. Betpro log in to stay updated on the latest cricket news.

As a precaution, Alzarri Joseph was rested for the second ODI. If he is healthy, he should immediately replace Shamar Joseph, who was costly.
Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Gudakesh Motie, Matthew Forde, Jayden Seales, Shamar Joseph/Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Keacy Carty, and Shai Hope (w/c) make up the probable starting lineup.

Reece Topley might be considered instead of Saqib Mahmood, but the visitors wouldn’t want to alter a winning combination. Liam Livingstone (c), Will Jacks, Jordan Cox, Jacob Bethell, Philip Salt (wk), Sam Curran, Dan Mousley, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, Saqib Mahmood, and John Turner are the likely starting lineup.
